A Kitchen That Works as Beautifully as It Gathers

Most homeowners think they need a bigger kitchen. That’s exactly what this client shared during our initial consultation.

But after walking through the home and understanding how their family truly used the space, it became clear—the kitchen wasn’t too small. It simply wasn’t designed for how their life had evolved.

What once worked for one cook now needed to support multiple people prepping meals, making snacks, grabbing drinks, and staying connected—all at the same time.

Designed for Real Life
Every decision was rooted in improving flow, reducing congestion, and creating space for connection.

  • The island was extended to define and protect the main cooking zone by eliminating unnecessary walkways
  • Beverage and secondary stations were added to redirect traffic
  • Dedicated prep areas allow multiple people to use the kitchen at once
  • Additional seating and storage create a natural hub for gathering

The result is a kitchen where everyone can be together—without being in each other’s way.

Collaborative, Personal Design
This project was a true collaboration and a reflection of the homeowners’ creativity and personality. The design direction was sparked by a bold tile inspiration that set the tone for the entire space.

While early ideas explored a brick backsplash, we ultimately landed on a more practical and expressive solution: a saturated marigold subway tile paired with hexagon clay floor tiles. The combination brings warmth, texture, and character—creating a space that feels both vibrant and grounded.

Smart Storage, Seamless Living
Custom storage solutions were thoughtfully integrated throughout:

  • Pull-out drawers, a built-in trash unit, and a spice rack for efficiency
  • A concealed coffee station and hidden charging area to reduce visual clutter
  • A reimagined laundry closet, transformed into a functional beverage bar for entertaining all ages
  • Even a hidden TV seamlessly tucked into the cabinetry to watch the morning news with a hot cup of coffee

Every detail was designed to support daily life while maintaining a clean, cohesive look.

A Kitchen Meant to Be Lived In
This home has always been open, welcoming, and full of life—and now the kitchen fully supports that energy. It’s a space designed not just for cooking, but for gathering, connecting, and creating memories.

Because great design isn’t just about how a space looks— it’s about how it works, how it feels, and how it supports the people who live in it every day.
